I have taken on a client who has a brick and mortar fabric shop. They are small and we're in a small town. My main task was to do SEO/SEM (page titles, meta tags, text on category/sub-category landing pages, and link work).

They currently have a Point of Sale (POS) system in-store, which also provides an e-commerce site. (www.wws5.com)

The integration between POS and an online store is vital due to the 4,000+ fabrics, plus other notions and products. The client previous tried an online cart that was stand alone, but had too many instances of inventory not matching to what was physically at the store.

Now, they have gone through several website companies of varying kinds and are in the hole financially when it comes to just trying to have a working system and a presence online.

Their current POS/cart program (link above) seems awful to me ... the user-side screens look antiquated. There is nearly no tutorials etc for the cart part, as they focus on their POS program. There is virtually NO SEO capability. They gave me some instructions, but it's actually hard, dubious, and would take weeks to do every category page, sub-category page, and product. In my opinion, the company quickly provided a cart but knew nothing about how the online world works.

I did a quick search for Point of Sale in the plugins area but came up with nothing. Is there such a thing to work with Zencart? Is there another cart program that can integrate with an existing POS system?

Any ideas, suggestions, pearls of wisdom? My clients really do not have the thousands to start all over with another POS company.
