Low Order Fee being added to free virtual product

I wanted to ensure a minimum $2 amount per order so I enabled the Low Order Fee. It adds the a $1 fee if the product total is less than $2.

However, it adds $1 low order fee to free products as well, if this is the only thing in the cart. It does allow checkout without payment. Is there a way to turn this off for free products?

NOTE - I am reluctant to install a min order mod as the site is using a purchased template that I have found to have some funny work arounds for various things. I do intend to install a new template but do not have time to create logos and banners at this time.

When you installed the low-order fee module, did you set No Low Order Fee on Virtual Products to true?

I did set that to true. However, I had to change it back to false as it was messing up my multi vendor backend as it was charging $1.00 for free products. I'm going to have to test the minimum order mod afterall. If I add any money, as in Low Order Fee, there is no way to assign it to a vendor.
