help changing the backgound

im new to zencart i need help changing the backgound i have design a better looking background jpg but need help installing it , im using v 1.3.9h. im using the (man store template)

As I recall, the Man Store template is a Template Monster free template, and TM can change things around from normal zencart behavior. A link or text address to your site may help.

But normally background images will go in to your templates/YOURTemplate/images folder.

You can set the background in the stylesheet, but since TM may have several stylesheets it can be uncertain where it is.

You can download any number of free templates that have background images to see how it is done. But here is the code for the All Business template:

body {margin: 0;font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 62.5%;color: #444444;background: #edf9fb url(../images/bk.jpg) repeat-x;}

You may need just the last part from "url" pertaining to the image. Name your image what you have called it.

Make sure that your background image is small and optimized for fast loading.

I see you have made your first post - and it deals with the dreaded Template Monster.

Before you progress any further with your ZC site, re-consider your decision to use TM.

You will be posting FREQUENTLY crying out for help with these cumbersome and troublesome templates - and you will not get much help, because the majority of helpers on the forum keep well away from TM.

The general advice for new users of ZC is to steer well clear of TM... They are difficult to adjust, and a LOT of things you would expect to happen when you change common settings, just do not happen at all.

And the 'Man Store' (AKA old #12541) template doesn't even look nice. It's the oldest free TM template I know of and we've been wrangling with it here as long as I've been around. Do yourself a favor and select one of the free templates from Picaflor Azul or 12 leaves, available from the Plugins area. You'll thank me later.
