Refunds/Returns and Sales Report

I have read the forums and unless I am wrong I cannot find a solution to how refunds/returns are reflected in the daily sales report. Is there something that I am missing? How do we get the sales to subtract from the monthly sales and provide accurate daily sales after refunds.

There's nothing in Zen Cart to handle refunds.

It is possible to modify ZC to handle refunds and then write your own sales reports. The way I saw this done on an osC shop was to write put through refunds as negative orders (re-use most of the order class functions).
