Default Redirect when the website is down for maintenance

Thanks for taking the time to read my post.

What I would like to do is have my page redirect to another internal webpage when the site is down for maintenance (or when a 404 error occurs) ~ either that or I would like to completely change the styles.css for the site is down for maintenance page (such as eliminating the background image, changing the background color, etc.). How can I accomplish this? Thank you for your help in advance.

You can change the CSS for your down_for_maintenance page by adding a new file at:
    /includes/templates/NAME_OF_YOUR_TEMPLATE_HERE/css/down_for_maintenance.css
Put your CSS changes for just that page into that specific file, and it will take effect only when index.php?main_page=down_for_maintenance is displayed.

You can also turn off the headers/footers/sidebars on that page by flipping the corresponding switches in Admin->Configuration->Website Maintenance

As for 404 errors, you can ask your hosting company for help on how best to restyle your own custom 404 pages on their servers.

Sorry for the delayed response, but I just wanted to say that the CSS copy worked perfectly for me. Thanks DrByte!
