Redirect loop detected (max_redirect = 7) Error

Hi All,

Ive got a weird thing come up on a couple of my websites. I have 2 websites that seem to function perfectly through a browser but when Googlebot goes to the website it returns a 'http 500 error' and the w3c validator says '[FONT=Courier New]Redirect loop detected (max_redirect = 7)[/FONT]'

These sites have been working fine so not really sure what has happened.

My sites are http://www.flowersbypostdirect.co.uk and http://www.secretseductions.co.uk

Any ideas?

I would wonder if you have other Zen Carts on the same server with the same rewrite module. If they are not experiencing this issue, then it's an issue they both share. In either case I would contact the developer of the rewrite module you are running. .co.uk domains are specifically problematic with rewriting because technically .co.uk is a sub domain and not a TLD.

Many thanks for the reply. I do have multiple domains all running zencart with the CEON Mappings manager module. most of the sites are on the .co.uk however i have 1 domain which is a .com and isnt running any URL re-writing plugin. This site is also experiencing the same problems.

Would there be any issues around the server? I have a dedicated server but im not aware of any updates that have been done recently?

As a test i have completely wiped all files from the one domain, re-installed everything fresh and got both the W3C validation working and also google didnt detect any issues for a few days. Now it has suddenly detected a few pages. When i download these through the option of 'Fetch as Googlebot' in WMT it is successful? It seems to be an intermittant problem.

I would say that narrows it down to a server issue, contact your webhost =)
