Linking Categories

I have a bunch of different categories on my page but want to have a master category for certain groups of categories. How do I take all my items from say 12" category and put them all into "Complete Collection" category without doing each one manually. I know there is a way to link the categories because I have done it in the past but cannot for the life of me remember how to do it

Also I want the two separate categories to still exist I just want 12"/LPs to be in the complete collection category as well as their own

I don't think that there's a way (other than one-by-one) to link all products in category_1 to category_2 using the standard admin interface, but there's probably a couple of SQL statements that will do the trick for you ... if you know the category_id number for the two categories.
