adding new button and functionality on my site

Hi guys, I'm new to zen-cart, forgive me if I posted on wrong section and I was planning to add a new button on my store that has a certain function..


the button will have a relationship on the categories that'll be selected on the dropdown, once it has been clicked, it'll display below my desired contents..



my question are:

where should or what is the file should I edit to accomplish this feature?
what knowledge should I posses to work with this, I got enough foundation on PHP/MySQL and I think I can work it from code snippets

Is the bundles button a link to a new page that you have defined or is it a link to a category-listing for a specific category?

Does the button "live" in your store's header? If so, a starting point for your modification is /includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/common/tpl_header.php.

hi, thanks for the reply.. That button is not yet existing, I just paste that via photoshop..
