So I want my customer to select 10 candies to go into a 1lb box....

There's a plugin Assorted Wine Crates that configures a store that allows the customer to choose 6 (or 12) bottles of wine to fit into a 6- or 12-bottle crate. Except for the wording, it's the same process as you want to allow the customer to choose some number of candies to fit into a 1- or 2-pound box.
