    Default Easy Populate help needed

Sorry for posting, but I've read all the help postings already and can't seems to get Easy Populate to show up in my tools admin section. I'm probably missing something small, so if someone could please list step by step once I put the file in my zencart folder via FTP what to do? Not sure what renaming my admin folder is or what i need to copy?

    Thanks very much in advanced.

I did, but I don't know if I'm missing the first step b/c I can't seem to get to the point it starts out at? I moved the entire folder under my zencart folder and then not sure what to do next?
    Thanks.

There are several Easy Populates for 1.3.9h. Which one are you using* and it likely has its own support forum.

*A link to the plugin page might be best to ID it.

I think I tried several, but now working with http://www.zen-cart.com/showthread.p...ulate+download

maybe a silly question, but what do they mean by changing "admin" name? i.e. to "custom" ?

I'm not that familiar with Apsona and it has its own support thread.

Sounds like you might be doing too much with too little Zencart experience. Can you set up a testing site somewhere, possibly even in a subfolder of your main domain?

Probably... since I've had another completely different cart code process for the past decade almost, but guess it's a moot point now that I'm live with Zen I would certainly appreciate any help to move on and get my site working properly with the add-ons that I need.

I still am unsure of how to install these add-on-modules and what they mean by the "admin" folder in the directions, as there is no folder by that name under my Zencart folder? I'm probably just missing the first easy step?

The "admin" folder is or should be re-named for security reasons. Can you access your admin? If so, look at its url to see the admin folder name. If not, compare your zencart on your server with zencart on your computer, top level. One of the different folders on your server should be your admin folder area.

Many plugins have to be assigned to your current template. When looking at the file structure of the plugin, you may see something like "YOUR TEMPLATE" or "CUSTOM TEMPLATE". What you do is rename that folder to the name of your template folder you are using. So, if you're using, say, the barebones template, you would rename those folders to barebones. (Usually using small case.)

Other plugins may additionally require inserting a piece of code into a current file. Such as the Ask a Question mod which needs a piece of code in the tpl product info display file, in addition to its plugin folders and files. I'm about ready to try this plugin again on my new 1.5 zencart, I think it will work.

As I recall, Easy Populate 4 only touches the admin folders. If you don't see your (probably re-named) admin folder, I can see why your Easy Populate and probably Apsona failed.

When uploading a plugin that touches the admin folder, you can re-name the plugin's admin folder to match your re-named admin folder.
