    Default HTML Editor shows NONE

When I go to define pages in the tools section of the admin and want to change the text of about us or anything I am only given the option of plain text. What do I need to do so I can get html code. I really don't want to uninstall and then reinstall again. I am running ZC 1.5. I did look at Config-My Store and it will not let me change the HTML Editor. It says NONE and that is the only option I have.

The HTML editor was removed from the core Zencart code. This is considered the best of the available mods:

Does anyone know why the file size doesn't change when I upload a file via Filezilla. I am trying to upload the CKEditor and the files that I need to upload say successful upload but they didn't upload. Example: I uploaded the editors_list.php from the CKEditor to the renamed admin-includes-languages-english-extra definitions. The CKEditor file says it has a filesize of 445 and the filesize in the renamed admin is 430. I have tried to upload these files several times and it will not change. The only file that I did get to upload correctly was ckeditor.php.

    Thanks

I was wondering since I seem to have problems uploading and replacing files in CKEditor would it be better for me to delete the particular file than upload the new file afterwards.

    Thanks

Wouldn't hurt to try it both ways. You might also try a different FTP client. I use the FireFTP plugin for Firefox. Are you saying that the CKE editor doesn't work, or are you just worried about the file size discrepency ?

Filezilla, and indeed any other FTP program is not supposed to change the size of the files during transfer. To do so would indicate a file corruption.

Whom do I beleive? The human that is giving a conflicting report, or the software that never lies?
    One of you is wrong.

My installation concurs that this is the correct filesize with only the CKeditor installed on a V1.5.0 installation (but wait... read on....)

The original editors_list.php file (from Zen V1.5) is 332 bytes.

The problem I'm having is that you aren't actually telling us what your actual problem is. Even though the original file is 332 bytes, if you inspect that file it doesn't actually contain any code. In fact it only contains commented lines, one of which reads
    * NOTE: This file is deprecated for v1.5.0 onwards and may be deleted.

Which "ckeditor.php"? The one located the renamed admin-includes-languages-english-extra definitions folder or the one in the root folder (renamedAdmin)?

If it is only the one on the renamed admin folder that you can 'upload correctly' then I'm guessing that you have a permissions problem in regards to uploading to the subfolders. This isn't a very clever guess though because if this were the case the FTP program would have produced an error message saying the upload had failed, which is in conflict with what you stated about the upload being reported as successful'.

My advice is try again but this time take super extra careful observation as to what files are being uploaded where, as well as any error messages that could possibly fly past if you so much as blink at the wrong time. As stated, either you or your FTP program has made a mistake. Computers don't make mistakes.

    Cheers

I cannot get the CKEditor to work. I do the steps, everything says that it is uploaded but when I login to my admin it still only allows me to choose plain text. I will try again and see what happens.

    Thanks
