Adding another 'notes' box during checkout

Once a customer chooses their payment method I need to have a text input box below, with a bit of text above it explaining what the box is.

I'm not expecting anyone to write the code for me, but a few pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated :)

There is such a box in a stock Zencart installation. Could you be more specific about your requirements ?

Yes I know there is already a text box (marked 'Special Instructions or Comments About Your Order') with the default template.
The reason it's no good to me lies in the fact that there are 3 pages to the checkout:
1. Shipping
2. Payment
3. Confirmation
Only the 1st and 2nd page allow you to input data, but the problem is the box mentioned above is displayed on both of them!

What I'm looking for instead is a box of the same size to be displayed at the bottom of the 2nd page (underneath the payment options) ONLY.

Is this even possible? Once again any help greatly appreciated!

Have a look at gift wrap module, I know it's not what you want but I had the gift message box enabled on my store without the tick box being enabled (via config, order totals, gift wrap set to false). You could simply change the text of the box title to suit your need.

Edit: this was possible because I use FEC and gift wrap message box can be shown or hidden in FEC settings.
Yeah I know it's a long way round but it does work.

FEC, fast easy checkout. It's a mod from addons area. Or you will find the latest version here https://www.numinix.com/zen-cart-mod...t-for-zen-cart
FEC has gift wrap written into it on some of the versions, defiantly in 1.9.6.

I'm on my phone so I'm kind of limited as to what I can find out, is that mod free?
It looks pretty good though, definitely needs a few tweaks hear an there, but a promising start :)

Yeah a freebie, only pay if you want them to install if for you. It's a big mod but reasonably easy to install especially if store isn't heavily modified.
