Adding additional options to products (initials embroidery)

Hi

This is a bit of a strange request but is it possible to add a field on products in zencart to allow for people to put in their initials which then adds an extra cost to the product.

Basically the company does rugby team wear and clothing and some customers want to be able to get their initials embroidered on to the items.

We can offer this service but I don't know if this is possible to integrate it into zencart?

So a text box or something where they can put their initials, with an explanation of the embroidery and additional cost, and then it sends this data through to us when they place the order.

Can anyone help?

You would use a "text" attribute, possibly with a per-letter cost. More details on exactly how you want this to work will let us advise more precisely.

Is the text attribute thing a built in option? I haven't seen that.

The per-letter cost isn't quite necessary if it's easy enough to have a set cost and a maximum of 3 letters then we would probably have the same price regardless if it's 1/2/3 letters being embroidered.

It wouldn't be on all items just on some that we choose and would be as simple as the customer choosing which size they want, how many they want and entering initials IF they want to have some embroidered, and then adding that item with the relevant information to the cart.

In Attribute Controller, the 'text' attribute is selected under Option Type

I've worked it out using the text attribute controller. Thanks so much for all the help you two. This was much simpler than I thought it was going to be!
