Is it possible to make my homepage just the search function

I would like to be able to have my hompage be just a black background with only the search box? Is this possible?

You might try a page-specific stylesheet to hide everything else and to position the search box. I think it would be called index_home.css or something like that.

I don't have all the images for my database of products so what I am doing is having a frames page the first frame would be the search option from zen cart and thhe other frame is nothing more than a pdf of my cataol. The customer enters the part number into zencart it give them the price & check out. it allows me to operate until I can complete my databse and transisiton completely t zen cart.

From what I understand, Zen Cart doesn't work well in frames and it may interfere with payment modules.
