    Default Site Help Please!!

    Hello,

Here is my question my site on safari looks the exact way I want it. Today I went to firefox and it looks correct except for one spot the main page slider the banners inside of it on the firefox version are messed up and do not go all the way from left to right. However on the safari version of it they do. Is there a way to fix this please and if so how!!

Here is the site for reference: mysterydrawer.com (Please be advised this is an adult product site)

I thank you for your time and responses!!

According to the source of your page, the two images that are not wide enough are, um, not wide enough. The other four images are shown as 1000px wide. Those two are 950px wide. Resize them and all should be well.

When I adjust them they now look good on firefox but it cuts them off on safari. Going to make the container bigger and see what happens.

I think you're going at a lot of this backwards.

Your site is full of images that are stretched one way or the other to the point of looking completely unprofessional. I guarantee your competition will have better images.

It is always a mistake to set a standard width and height on any image(s) if you do not have an image that meets that standard. You have set as much as three different h/w standards that on file might have to fit into.

Decide what's going to be landscape (wider than taller) and what's going to be portrait (taller than wider) and set a proportional standard for all those images. For instance, 4 x 6 and 6 x 4 OR 3 x 5 and 5 x 3. Doing the former, a landscape photo at 1200 x1800 would be perfect in all cases. A photo 1100 x 1500 would need to be cropped to 1000 x 1500 in order to not look "squished" in all shots.

You can overcome some of this with the stylesheet, but "Proper, Prior Planning Prevents Pi**-Poor Performance."

Also, you need to make sure your site validates prior to "tweaking" everything in site. You may find that validation will "cure" a lot of the problems you are seeing in other areas. You've got span and font calls all over your text that should be in a stylesheet and invalid calls in the slider.

iframes in main content linking to someone else!?!

I thank you for your feedback and will look into making the images better which I was already working on so oyu know. I put them up there as a test to see what can go where and so on and was planning on adjusting them. I have a question what do you mean by landscape. Also what do you mean by slan and font calls all over my text.

    Thanks again.

Decide what's going to be landscape (wider than taller) and what's going to be portrait (taller than wider)
Called that because most wide-oriented art is a view of a landscape (like fields of whet) versus the tall-oriented art which is mostly a portrait (like the Mona Lisa).

When an inline style is used to control the "look" of a particular code, some will use <span></span> or <font></font>. When these are hard-coded into a document you WILL have to find them later if you decide on a template change. There are a lot of predefined tags in ZC that can be used instead. That way, when you change the color of an h1 tag you don't have to hunt down all the places you've hard-coded a change to a particular h1 tag. One change in the stylesheet will change the entire cart.
