I could really use some help!!

So it appears that I have multiple of a few of these pages I thought it over rode them but I have for instance three product listing pages would this possibly have anything to do with my problem and if so should I just delete the extras or do I need them for some reason I do not know!!

"three product listing pages"? Do you mean product_listing.php files? where exactly are these, and what are their full filenames?

I have just installed the latest version of the files on my test site, and all functions work as expected. Try this fileset, after deleting all old versions on your site. You shouldn't need to rerun the SQL.

So It is fixed now and works great. For those who may have this same problem here is what I did to make it work. When you upload the new files for this mod it says that it will override the old files well for some reason it did so for the two tpl_ files but did not do so for the product_listing.php file it turned out that it made a second version of this file for some reason. How I fixed my problem in this thread was that I went in and deleted the old product_listing.php files and uploaded the new one put in the last post here by gjh42. Once I uploaded only the new product_listing.php file it worked like a charm.

I want to thank you gjh42 for the wonderful addition to this mod and for the personal help on my problem without you I never would have figured this out!!

For those of you who are interested in this mod it works great with his addition use it if you already have it without the additions upgrade it you will want to trust me!!

I have one final question is there a way to widen the drop down menu this mod presents on the page. The one that says grid or list can I widen this somehow and if so how please!!

Glad to hear it's working for you now! It sounds like your FTP or hosting somehow hiccupped on that file and made copies instead of overwriting it. That is generally an option when uploading, but one that you have to manually select each time. If that is what happened, the new copies would probably have something appended to their name, and thus would not be called. Only the old version would be used since it still had its correct name. That's my guess, anyway...
With your confirmation and my test, I am confident that it is ready to submit to Plugins.

I knew there was a reason I put an id on the wrapper for that dropdown:)
Add to your stylesheet

#viewControl select {width: 7em;}

Adjust to taste.

I sound like a total tool but where did you place this wrapper as Im not seeing it Im most likely just blind but yea!!

It's a <div> around the <select> which creates the dropdown. This is irrelevant for you; all you have to do is add that rule to your stylesheet.
