about featured products list

I was just wondering, why do the products that have been deleted from the store, still show up in this list when choosing items to be featured.

The vendor and the products have been deleted from the store in admin. Did I forget to delete them somewhere else?

Most likely you forgot to delete them in a crossed category or you still have them featured (in which case delete the featured item and poof gone). Featured products are not random, it only displays what you have told it to.

yes I know in the list showing what is featured will show if not deleted..I meant the drop down list to choose what you want to feature from

that is the one that still lists the products when they have been removed

You'd need to edit the zen_draw_products_pull_down() function to add the exclusion to the SQL query, something like "AND products_status != 1". But be mindful that there are 12 places in the admin where that same function is used in other pages. It might not be appropriate to do that kinda exclusion in all of those cases. Do what suits your specific needs best.

Thanks doc but I think will live with it for a bit...then maybe see if possibly they are still hiding in the database and delete from there. Of course if the vendor should change their mind and wish to show them again, less work for me...lol
