    Default Home page question

I am new, so please excuse me if this is a stoopid question.

    I installed Zen-Cart to www.mywebsite.com/products directory.

So ... does this mean I need to create a static home page that has a button/link to my Zen-cart website/pages?

When I installed it, I had to choose a /directory, although I really wanted my customers to go to www.mywebsite.com and land right on my Zen-Cart website. I hope that makes sense.

Do I need to go into my hosting account and set up a redirect ... so that when someone types in www.mywebsite.com it automatically takes them to the www.mywebsite.com/products page?

    Thanks bunches! Jules

Best to move it out of the directory now before the SE's begin listing your pages

    Kobra, thanks for that link.

When I installed, it specifically asked for a directory ... could I have just skipped that?

If I have to move it out of that directory, I'm not sure where to move it to?

I just want the zen-cart site to be my main website.

You will want to move the Zen Cart folders to the root of your domain, probably /public_html/ or /www/ or /htdocs/ on the server, depending on your host.

Okay ... thanks! I will try and figure that out tomorrow.

It's time for a bubble bath and a movie ... and to get my head out of this. I'm so lost.

If you haven't entered content or done much customizing yet, you might just wipe the subfolder and reinstall in the root, without giving a foldername. Try it with the demo products first and play with them to learn how things work (they have tons of teaching info), then wipe and reinstall before starting your actual shop.

I have my zencart located on a subdomain and want to keep it there. How do I make the "home" button in the navigation bar point to my main domain?

For example my website is located at www.pizza.com. They can click a link to order now and it takes them to ordernow.pizza.com. I want to keep it this way as not everyone that comes to my site wants to order. But once I get them onto the zen-cart store I can't seem to navigate them back to my main website.

    Thanks,

In the original template, the "home" button is in your tpl_header.php file. You can change it there.

Thank you very much!!!!! I have been trying to find this for a week now. I had looked in this file but was reluctant to change the line
    <li><?php echo '<a href="' . HTTP_SERVER . DIR_WS_CATALOG . '">'; ?><?php echo HEADER_TITLE_CATALOG; ?></a></li>
Because I wasn't positive that this one was it and didn't want to crash the site.

    Thank you again!!
