Flat rate vs FedEx

All products on my cart are shipped by weight except two items. They are drop shipped from the manufacturer and he charges a flat $20.00 per item. I have FedEx set up for my standard shipping and Flat rate set up for these two items. Problem is, customers still see the FedEx shipping rates along with the flat rates, and can choose one for a lesser amount than the $20.00. What am I doing wrong?

What do you intend on happening if a customer order includes items from both areas?

I really hadn't thought of that, it hasn't happened before, and more than likely won't. But if it did... what is the answer?

Well, if someone did buy this item with the flat rate shipping, I would like the $20.00 to remain permanent for that item only. Then the other items on a by weight basis in FedEx.
