how to increase font size on categories?

I have my categories set to display horizontal across the top of the screen directly under the header.
How do I increase the font size on the categories?
I've tried and I accidently increased the font size on the whole store.

If you mean the built-in categories in the header (rather than some dropdown add-on), add this to your stylesheet:

#navCatTabs {font-size: 2em;}

Adjust the 2em to suit.

Yes, built in categories. Not add-ons.

You mean the stylesheet.css file that is in the template folder, I assume?

I would have thought the font size for the categories would be in it.
But all I could find is for the body.

The stylesheet mostly only has specific rules for elements that need them. There are many CSS ids and classes available in the code which are not mentioned in the stylesheet, but ready to add if needed.
