Default EC debugging - is there a problem?

I've had several orders successful in the past week (since opening the store). All orders use paypal express checkout. I'm using ZC 5.1.5 with SO4 (Super Orders for 1.5).

However, I've heard some customers saying their order couldn't go through (they got a white screen after returning from PayPal). When they tried again, they were able to complete the order.

I have paypal logging on. In the log directory, I see around 6 files for a successful transaction. But, I see many instances of only two files: a CURL and a paypal-action. I don't see any error files either there or in the cache directory.

I can place an order, and some customers can too. But it seems like there are many who start a transaction (creating two log files) then either don't or can't continue.

Is this typical? Is there a way I can figure out what's going wrong with their transaction? I'm digging through the logs to see if it is happening to new customers v.s. returning ones, but haven't found anything yet.

    Ideas appreaciated.....

In version 1.5.1, the blank page error log files are in the /logs directory. Check there first.

I don't have a logs directory. Is this new in 1.5.1 (my host's 'simplescripts' doesn't have that upgrade yet). Did I miss a step in installation? Is the location specified in the config files?

    Thanks,
