Shared SSL- Login Timeout problems when customer goes to checkout or when admin logs

Hi
On a new installation on a hosted server (IM Hosting) using
Shared SSL

My test customer experiences - Login Timeout problems immediatly when customer goes to the checkout
or after I log into the admin panel, making any change results in a logout from the admin panel.

I believe that the shared SSL server setting in includes/configure.php and admin/includes/configure.php are correct
as I receive the golden padlock when going to the admin panel or when the test customer goes to checkout.

I have looked at faqs and also checked folder permissions at the hosted server and checked session settings.

If anyone can assist, that would be great. I am using the Yorkshire_Clean template but didnt test prior to installing the template. The zen-cart installation was floorless as was the template. Any help from an advanced zen-cart user would be appreciated.

Could my own php.ini file at the host server get around these issues.

Please note that when the admin panel is configured to non ssl, the admin works ok.

Further to this. This is the error message when logged in as the test customer and clicking on the checkout link.

Home :: Login Time Out
Whoops! Sorry, but you are not allowed to perform the action requested.
You are still logged in to your account and may continue shopping. Please choose a destination from a menu.

I found this thread on another website which allows the successful secure login to the admin panel and this works.

However I still have the issue of login timeout when the test customer goes to the checkout.

Any assistance with a fix for this one would be appreciated.

Could you switch to the Classic Template and see if this stops happening?

I made an account and can go between the shop as non-secure and My Account area where I am secure without issue ...

However, it is on the checkout link that I finally can get the whoops error ...

Hi,

For the store, have you actually tested with something in the cart.
Your test site has no products so I can't

However the default behaviour of checkout_shipping is to display the time out page if you try and access that page with nothing in your cart.

I should also add that in a stock Zen Cart template, the link to checkout is dynamic, and therefore only ever appears if you have something in your cart.

If your checkout link shows even with nothing in the cart, then the template needs fixing.

Ajeh - I swapped back to the classic template and the admin panel would still not work without the fix from the thread from terranetwork support, however I did not test the checkout issue, and swapped back to Yorkshire Clean template.

Wilt - I will create a product, add it to the cart and see if I loose the woops timeout. The checkout link appearing without a product in the cart is one for the Yorkshire Clean creator, which I think is a great template. I will let you guys know how the checkout link tests with a product added.

Thanks very much for your help. Adding a product, fixed the SSL session logout when the checkout link is clicked in Yorkshire Clean when configured with shared SSL from the web host. It all looks promising.
