Remove Filters

I'd like to remove some filters. How can I best do this?

I'd also like to remove the text from above the banners such as 'Please Visit Our Sponsers'

I see these in english.php, but I don't know how to remove.

I am OK for now with the alpha drop down, but the other filters I'd like to edit such as sort order. I see them in english.php, but I don't know how to turn them off so they don't appear. Ditto with the text above the banner.

Cute. Would eliminating all the text between the quotes eliminate the entire filter or just all of the choices within the filter. I want the filter to go away.

What filters on what page??

admin > config > product listing > Include Product Listing Alpha Sorter Dropdown > Set to false
admin > config > product listing > Display Category/Manufacturer Filter > Set to "0"

Re: Remove Filters

I'm referring to the filters on the top of the page such as on New Products you get a Sort By: drop down filter with several choices such as date added; model number; price - low to high, etc.

Not on a stock install
You must have added a plugin for this

Are there "best recommendations" for this?

I've got Dynamic Filter installed, but am running into some issues with it.. not sure if there's a better option?

I went thru the other thread on Dynamic Filter, but didn't really learn howto solve its issues...

1. it seems to have pricing related challenges
2. works ok in main category areas (like "all products") but seems to run into issues when in say a sub-category ("pink products from XYZ Co").....
is that common with it, or am I missing something?
