Pricing based on size

Hi all,

Just wondering about ZenCart's capabilities before I attempt to deploy it for a client who needs to do the following:

They operate a print shop and have the requirement to base pricing on type of material used, size of material used, ink type, optional framing and shipping costs.

Is ZenCart capable of allowing the user to define a paper size eg. 40" x 30"?
It would also need the functionality to upload image/document files as part of the job.

Any help would be appreciated before we dive head first into things.

Your client's products would be "priced by attribute", for example a "Size:" attribute could have attribute values of 40" x 30", 24" x 8", etc. and each size could 'contribute' to the price of the customized product; ditto with the ink type and the framing would by an optional checkbox attribute. You might need a bit of code-related customization to get the shipping costs properly associated.

Hmm, the only issue with this is that the site would offering set sizes, which doesn't always for the client. They should be able to choose their own sizes in virtually any combination. If selecting from set figures is all that is available, we will have to continue our hunt for a product with native support for something of this nature.

Your example implied (to me, at least) that you would be offering set sizes. You can use attributes and have the customer specify the Width: (as a text box) and Height: (as a text box) so that the combinations that the customer could specify are endless ...
