Default How do I move my site to "go Live" without being in a subdirectory?

    Hi All,

I have made my site reading the tutorials and forum threads and now i want to make it live.
The problem is that its been long since I have created the folders and done the setting of the paths etc.
I am feeling scared to move from the current URL - http://bambino.co.in/Shop/index.php to http://bambino.co.in

Is there a step by step approach to do the same so that I do not end up loosing all that I have done?
    Pls help.

Thanks. I read the tutorial. The current sessions directory is : /home/bambinoc/public_html/Shop/cache

As of now my site is available on http://bambino.co.in/Shop/index.php?main_page=
I need this to be available on http://bambino.co.in/index.php

What should I move/rename the folder to?

    Thanks

Follow the instructions in the article: move the files and folders to the new location, and update the configure.php files to reflect the change you made.
If you need help understanding the folders on your particular webserver, your hosting company is the expert on that topic.

So as I understand correctly I need to move the files and folders from /home/bambinoc/public_html/Shop/cache to /home/bambinoc/public_html
This will make it appear in the root directory. But I never created a folder called cache. I just created Shop under the root.
Does the folder cache get created by zencart or by the hosting company? My hosting company is Hostgator.

It is unlikely that you created any of the folders involved. These would have been created when you installed zencart.

There is no point re-writing the tutorial in this thread. It tells you all you need to know. If you cannot follow it then you will need to employ someone to do it for you. Your host may do this for you for a small fee.
