access problems after SSL

Just the login page represented and in the address bar it reads
http:// www. domain. com /admin/login.php?camefrom=index.php

Ok let's add another piece of wierdness.

I just tried thru https:// and the login page turned to the one that asks you to reset password, I did so, putting old password, and new one, and it did not let me access, now retrying with the new, and old passwords, says username and/or password are wrong.

And as if wasn't enough I see the password changed in phpmyadmin

Is this a new install or an upgraded install?

It had beenn upgraded over a month ago, and all was fine.
Last week I changed server (host), installed fresh, and imported database, and template.

I just deleted, and made a fresh install again.
This time I enabled SSL during the installation process, and failed to access with the temporary pass, I clicked on forgotten, and it did send the email with new pass, I tried, and it asked for old pass, and new pass, I did, and when trying to access with new pass, it failed again.
When email was sent instead of the email sent message, the define text of it came out.

At this point I reimported the database, and used the pass in there, failing again.
