extremely important attributes question

ok so ill search the forums after writing this but in case i dont find anything i need an answer as quick as possible cause im getting ready to post an ad bout the product but need to fix this problem.


I set up a sale for my entire catalog 10% off.
I loaded 40 t-shirts into my site.
I set them up by attributes for size setting each size, remove the plus, add the price for that size.
I goto my site and it says t-shirts 10% off when browsing the catalog.
When selecting a size the drop down box doesnt reflect the discounted price.
added to cart and proceeded to checkout to see if it still worked.
reach final page for entering payment info and summary of costs.
shows full cost not 10% off.

You did not state if you have "stock by attributes" installed or which one

i dont believe i have any module installed just the base attribute controller. And everything shows fine up till checkout where the discount isnt applied. You can see here what i mean www.thearcanehaven.com click clothing then t-shirts and pick any t-shirt.

I believe that you should have set the product price in the catalog entry for the product and not specify the price in the attributes
Where you have an upcharge for larger sizes you only specify the difference for the attribute

ok step by step please explain what you mean and how it differs from what i did. I followed an FAQ on this site for setting up price by sizes only the discount for sale maker isn't applying the 10% off after slecting the size and going to checkout but is showing 10% on the details and summary views of the catalog.

In Attributes Controller, when adding attributes to a product, there is a row of colored boxes. What setting do you have for this one?

It appears that you are entering full price in the attributes

Enter the price in the product entry screen

Then in the attributes, and only those that there is a difference in price - enter the difference

So if the product is $23.00 for small, med, lrg - those attributes have no price differential entered

If X-lrg, XX-lrg are plus $3.00 those attributes have +$3.00 entered

Ok so i tried it this way and now the dropdown box shows +2.00 instead of a price like I want it to and in addition to this the problem persists. I changed this shirt here so you can see. http://www.thearcanehaven.com/index....roducts_id=473 add it to cart and proceed to checkout via paypal as guest and you can go all the way through the checkout process minus entering any credit card info or paypal info and see at each screen how the discounted price never applies.
