    Default Search is case sensitive

    Hi all,
I have just realised that the search in my shop is case sensitive?
With my modest knowledge I have checked the header_php.php file and the SQL appears to be correct it has LIKE which from memory is what you would use to avoid case
    Help much appreciated

    1. You posted saying you're using v1.3.8a. YOU NEED TO UPGRADE ASAP. Your site has serious security problems.

    2. Search is case insensitive if your database tables are using a _ci collation. If your searches are coming out as case-sensitive, then your database tables are NOT using the _ci collation and will need to be changed.

    Hi, DrByte:
I send you a PM, but I think I may still like to post here in case you are not always checking your PM.
How do I set up my search with Case sensitive, right now I am running new zencart version, and search set up is case insensitive, but I want it case sensitive.
    thank you.

Your question is the opposite of the topic in this thread.

I'm not sure why you'd want to make search be case-sensitive, but if that's really important to you, then change the collation in your database on your searchable fields to a case-sensitive setting.
