    Default Cannot delete option

I have tried to add a downloadable datasheet but could not get it to work, so I decided to delete it and start again, BUT when I try to delete the option it says:

This option has products and values linked to it - it is not safe to delete it.

Even after I 'Delete ALL Option Values to ALL products for Option Name' and select the option and then click update.

    Any ideas ?

Is this: 'Delete ALL Option Values to ALL products for Option Name' not meant to do exactly that ?

This does not destroy a linked product

Ah odd, I was just reversing my steps, I did not specifically link a product just followed the guide.

How do you unlink a product ?

Find linked products by viewing your product lists in your admin and under status will be a green box(active) and next to it a yellow box(linked)
Take note of the product ID - view the linked product and take note of the master category
If it is not the category you are viewing - then it is linked from elsewhere and you can delete it

Thanks but I am lost, I don't have a menu option called product list - maybe its a different version.

I also only have 1 product set-up, there isn't an option called product list in the admin menu but I think I can get to where you mean by selecting Catalog - Categories/Products and then click through the 2 categories on to the product.
From there is a green box that has a mouse over saying 'Status-Enabled' but no yellow box next to it.

To make this easier, you can install Admin Master Link Icon from Plugins. This makes the icon orange for the master category version of the linked product, and yellow for linked category versions. No need to go into each product and view the list and compare categories.

Thankyou I will keep that in mind.

And a big thanks to Kobra for trying to fix my problem :)
