    Default Discounting issue

    Hi,
I think this should be simple but I just can't work it out! Being a total newbie n'all
I have this scenario buy 1 for 12.95 buy 2 for 17.95 - the items are card games - and have several versions - I worked out to do buy 2 of the same, but I want to buy 2 of any of a group of cards games.
    Brain just not getting it
    Help appreciated

You may need to install this mod:

Or perhaps Better Together if you want to sell in pairs. (The previous suggestion, Quantity Discounts, would be good if you give discounts for any quantity over 2).

Hi Yes I have this installed already (first one) and it works fine for the 2nd pack of cards that I put in the basket but not the first one - is there something in the settings that I can fix this?
    Thanks

Please explain more clearly what you have done, what the results are and how that is at variance with what you want.

Hi I am attaching my settings (screen dumps) - couldn't attach here is the linkhttp://www.lakemacquariewebdesign.com.au/zen.zip
I have the card games set up as one item with different attributes - if you want to choose 2 of the same card game it works fine but it you want to choose 2 different ones only the 2nd one has the discount applied.

I thought it may apply in the checkout but it doesn't?
    Thanks for your help

OK, so from your screenshots, you're mixing up the Quantity Discounts contribution with the products price manager, which controls native quantity discounts. Don't use Products Price Manager; it won't allow you to mix and match. Delete those settings. In admin->modules->order totals->Quantity Discounts, you have Level 1 as "2" - now set Amount 1 to "3.98" (that's as close as you can get). You will see the discount when you check out.

    Hi Scott,
I realise I am not quite there yet - I only want to apply this to one product - I see that it is applying to all items - can I choose a product? - Or can this only be done programatically? My client will want to be able to do this in the future herself.
    Thanks (again)

I thought you said there were a bunch of card games?

To reduce the number of items this discount applies to please read the documentation on my home page and look for the strings "exclude_product" and "exclude_category".
