    Hiya

    I am setting up this mega-menu for the first time and I am getting it sorted - but have run into a problem and not sure if its resolvable or not.

    I have split my categories into 4 columns - working great :)

    BUT each of those sub-cats have sub-sub-cats and when you rollover the sub-cats those sub-sub-cats display OVER the 4 columns - not at the far right which it would usually do...

    Can it be done - or can you only have a 2 levels of menus? or more and not use columns

    All demos that I can find - when splitting into 2/3/4 columns don't then have another level? So not sure if possible

    demo can be seen here - work in progress as its a dummy test site - http://www.fishingtackle2go.co.uk/0-TESTSITE/index.php

    specimen & carp drop down is the one I am talking about

    If it can't it can't but a real shame if not as its a great little module!

    thank you
    Sarah

    Anything can be done using css. If you want to re position where the sub categories fly out you will need to change this in the stylesheet. Use the chrome web developer tools to help you find which line of the file needs to be edited.

    Thanks,

    Anne

    Hi Anne,

    Firstly I'd like to thank you for the Westminster New template! It's a beautiful design! I'm currently using this template with ZC version 1.5.4 and was wondering if this mod is suitable for that version?

    Many thanks

    James

    You can use this on 1.5.4. But, this is not responsive so only use it on the desktop layout.

    Thanks,

    Anne

    Hello again Anne,

    Sorry to bother you. I've attempted to install the mod following your directions closely and when I paste the code

    <!--bof-mega menu display-->
    <?php require($template->get_template_dir('tpl_mega_menu.php',DIR_WS_TEMPLATE, $current_page_base,'common'). '/tpl_mega_menu.php');?>
    <!--eof-mega menu display-->
    <div class="clearBoth"></div>

    into my /westminster_new/common/tpl_header.php file it causes the site to go blank apart from the header itself. Is the installation the same regardless of template used? Your instructions are very clear and precise so I'm struggling to see where I'm going wrong.

    Kind Regards

    James.

    Hello again Anne,

    Could I please ask how it is possible to only use this on the desk top layout and not affect the responsive layout? I'm currently working locally so am not able to view any changes I make on a tablet.

    Kind Regards

    James

    I believe what Anne meant to say is that Pure CSS Mega Menu mod was intended only for mouse-operated devices (desktops and laptops) and, unless modified for touch-screen devices, should be disabled or not loaded into touch-screen devices, especially those with small screens, (eg pads and mobiles). For touch-screen devices, you should use another menu-type, for example those gracefully supplied by Anne in her responsive templates.
