Large page width with scroll and css

I have been modifying css for days. Somehow, somewhere I changed a setting and now my page has a right-left scroll bar and apparently a very wide page. I did not notice because the template seems to be centered.

I just cannot figure out what is causing my page to scroll. I am using many stylesheets but I suspect this is either my regular stylesheet or the footer stylesheet. I hate to post a large stylesheet here, but I guess I need to in order for some help.

I was looking to find the problem but I just could not diagnose it. With nesting and very large css files it just makes it difficult sometimes to find issues like this. For anyone with this same problem, you can cover it up by add this to your body tag:

overflow-x: hidden;

This hides the horizontal scrollbar. If your template is larger than the page this is not a good idea, because you cannot scroll right to left after you ad this.

Diagnosing styling issues from just a stylesheet can be very difficult. Seeing the site live with the problematic code active is often the only way to tell what is really happening.

Just as an aside... Your product images are really not very nice... They are out of focus, and look like they were taken with a Kodak Brownie camera. Also, they look like you rummaged through someone's underwear drawer and fished out whatever pairs of knickers you could find. In some cases, the items look as if they've been worn quite a bit already.

Sorry to be brutal, but with lingerie and other intimates, pictures MUST be top quality. Many of the suppliers of branded goods have professional images which should be used. If you are going to use your own images, they need to be really good... go look at figleaves.com for how it ought to be done.

Schoolboy, My friend who does construction has a saying. He says: "Your not allowed to come into the room and critique during construction! After I am done then you can comment." You cannot walk into a room during construction and critique until you see a finished product. What you are seeing is not live to the regular visitors, there is not homepage link pointing to the new site. This is only for "construction" help.

Those images are stretched to fit that for now (I understand they are blurry and will get fixed but that is my last priority before going live). They all have to be re-sized from large with the image manager, as they have been re-sized smaller in the past. The others that are too small have to be re-taken and the owner is getting professional images. Those are nothing more than placeholders so I can view the layout of the site for now. This website sells some of the most exclusive European lingerie in the world (some brands/ styles you cannot even get easily in the states other than from this website). She (the website owner) will have professional images when I am done with her.

On the lighter side, selling online is not like the old days (even 8 years ago). :)

Ah... ok... wasn't aware that this is still in DEV mode. Just that a few years ago I built a lingerie site and the owner insisted on using their own pics (wanted to look different from other sites selling the same brands) and the result was a disaster. Not a single sale in the first 6 months! We then removed all the pics and used those supplied by the manufacturers. Now the site sells.

As you are well aware, pics are everything - particularly in sectors that are hugely competitive (such as lingerie).

Yeah, we had a similar conversation as well. Many of the older images was taken by her and her staff without models. So they were using their own images before. While she does have sales this is obviously hampering them. New beautiful site conversion, will now need new beautiful images for better conversion ratio. I do agree that images on an art/artsy site are everything.
