Default Host install (create new DB and migrate data) or manual install (point to old DB)?

I want to upgrade a store from 1.3.8h to 1.5.1 -- mainly for security concerns as I've had a pirate Admin person/bot continually adding himself as an admin. I delete the account but it keeps coming back.

My host (Godaddy) offers Zen Cart in its application center and that's how I originally installed 1.3.x.

Should I have Godaddy do a clean install of 1.5.1 into a new directory (and thus create a new database also) and then migrate the old DB data into the new DB... or... install 1.5.1 manually from Dreamweaver (also into a new directory) and just point to the new DB in the new config.php pages? (i.e. not create a new DB).

If the former, I'm a little uncertain how to migrate MySQL data from one DB to another.

Put Dreamweaver back in its box and leave it there. It is of no use to you for upgrading. It may have limited uses for zencart, but only in the hands of an expert in PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS and of course, Dreamweaver itself.

While you have a chance, get out of GoDaddy, and host with a proper service - then upgrade.
