The images there are 550px × 302px
You need to first scale your images accordlingly

is that all i need to do would that bring the side boxes up?

You would need to move the slider code into - most likely - main_page.php

What file is the slider code currently in?
What are the contents of your templates main_page.php

Does not look as though you have resized the images or moved the code
