Will an upgrade fix...?

Hi There

A website still running 1.3.7 has recently run into a problem, when trying to view the product detail page for any new product I get the error

'Internal Server Error, this is an error with your script, check your error log for more information.'

Older products are still working fine, just new ones throw up this error whether added manually through the catalogue screens or with EasyPopulate.

Has anyone come across this before? Will an upgrade to 1.5.1 definitely fix the problem?

An upgrade to v1.5.1 will definitely make it secure against hacking, which your old site is not now, so regardless of the answer to your question you need to upgrade. I would not be surprised if something about your current file/database structure is causing issues with your host's server. If you answer the "Posting Tips" when replying, with full info on the hosting environment and especially any changes they have made recently, someone should be able to give a clearer answer. But don't identify the site; you don't want to alert hackers to the presence of a vulnerable installation.
