Adding an Input Field for "which item?" to the Contact Us Page

Hi Guys

can you please tell me how to add an an input field to the contact us page.

currently the page by default has Full Name field, Email Address field and Message field! and they are all required input fields for customer to contact us.

i wish to add an extra input field where the customer can tell us what is the name of the item he or she is inquiring about!

Please help.

That is what the Message field is for
You can add instructions in the define pages editor

it seems that when clients click on call for price for certain item, they get directed to the contact us page and they start writing their inquiries assuming that the receiver already know what is the item in question!

if i have a required field there, it will force them to type the name or the part number of the item they inquiring about!

If you know php & html form structure you can add to a copy for your template of tpl_contact_us_default.php
You will need to add to the datbase a field to collect this info and code for same

I know little bit of php & html but is there a code that you can give me to use it and on which files?
