    Default Downloads not happening at checkout and shipping error message

    Hi,
    I am using v1.3.9h

    I have several problems going on with downloadable products.
    My downloadable file is green.
    However, it does not show up after the purchase is made (this is a free product).
    Also, the checkout process does not skip the address information (shouldn't it do this automatically for free items?)
    And, I get a message that says "sorry we are not accepting payments from your region" (my zones are "none")

    Please let me know if you need any other information.

    Sounds like you've got the shipping, etc, settings incorrect on the product.

    I read through the product set-up and it seems that I have done as directed. I do have the green dot.

    Under Payment Modules

    Check/Money Order
    Payment Zone is none
    Set Order Status is Processing

    PayPal Website Payments Pro (USA)
    Zone is none
    Order Status is Processing
    Unpaid is Pending
    Payment Action is Final Sale
    Country is USA

    Paypal Express
    Zone is none
    Order is processing
    Unpaid is pending
    Payment Action is Final Sale

    Shipping Modules
    Free Shipping
    Zone is none

    UPS
    Zone is none

    USPS
    Zone is none

    The green dot is only part of the equation.

    If it's asking for shipping, then you've not set it to use "Normal shipping rules apply".
    A downloadable product is a SPECIAL KIND of virtual product, and you should NOT mark it as Virtual, nor mark it as "free shipping". Leave those settings at their normal defaults, because the download-file-attribute automatically bypasses those unless you meddle with them (changing them tells it to not do what it thinks it should normally do with a download item).

    When your customer actually buys the product, if they get through checkout, does the attribute value show up on the order the same as it does in the shopping basket?
    If not, then you've got something very odd on your site that is conflicting with the normal way orders and attributes are handled.

    I have the following set:

    Product is Virtual: No, Shipping Address Required

    Always Free Shipping: No, Normal Shipping Rules

    Shopping cart shows: Formats included with purchase - 10o, DST, EXP, HUS, JEF, PCS, PEC, PES, VIP, VP3, XXX

    Next screen is 1 of 3 Shipping (Shipping Address verification)

    Next screen is 2 of 3 Payment Information (Sorry, we are not accepting payments from your region at this time)

    Next screen is 3 of 3 Order Confirmation (It shows Formats included with purchase - - -)

    Confirm Order has no link for download. Going to the My Account page does not either.

    I am stumped - - -

    How did you get past step 2 of 3 if it didn't give payment options?
    What payment modules have you got enabled?

    Don't know - that is another puzzling thing. I just clicked on continue and it went to the next screen.
