Customizing Contact Us Form, the action="" param,

Hi All,
I'm working on customizing the Contact Us form and working in tpl_contact_us_default.php. I'm struggling to understand the action param. and what all happens once submitted.

For starters I'd like to disengage the php send mail function.

also, what functions get called? and how do the inputs get sanitized?

the last param is action=send, so i found a send function in the class.smpt.php file but don't think that's what im looking for, thanks

Most Zen Cart pages have a module file in includes/modules/pages/XXXX/header_php.php and a template file in includes/templates/your_template/templates/tpl_XXXX_default.php. ( This is a bit of a simplification but it will do for the moment.)

Obviously the XXXX is in your case ' contact_us ' .

So the processing happens in the module file before the template is loaded. Then the template is loaded to display the information.

So, in your case the processing of the form happens in the module file which is:

includes/modules/pages/contact_us/header_php.php

You can do what you want in there. But keep in mind that overrides cannot be used for these files and that you may want to use a notifier rather than edit the core file if you can achieve what you want that way. If you look at that module file and it is all greek to you then you may need to post again ...
