Unless you have a specific reason, you should never use IP addresses for anything. That is what host/domain names and the DNS is for.
If you are connecting to your server (via hostname) and wish to see the IP address it is connecting too you can view the Filezilla connectivity log looking for something like:
--------------------------------------------------
resolving address of ftp.ozpost.net.au
Status: Connecting to 180.235.128.154:21...
---------------------------------------------------
If you've just set up a new server that doesn't resolve in the DNS yet, you'll need to obtain the IP address from your your hosting provider.

Rod is correct.
When you sign up for a hosting account, your host will provide you with the FTP login details, including the server path, username and password, and whether the connection is SSL Auth or just plain FTP.
If your domain does not currently resolve to the Server's IP address, your host will tell you how to handle this, and probably give a name (NOT an IP address) such as servername.net or servername.com .
In any event, the "welcome" message you should have received from the host will have all the FTP instructions.
