    1) Disable any "html editor". I've seen the "html editors" sometimes try to automatically convert / change characters.

    2) Change the generation of the "form" element for products to include the "accept-charset" attribute. This is something I set on most of my international websites - to tell the browser to send the input encoded using the UTF-8 character set.

    looking at your page, you seem to have found a solution. would really like to hear about it. been stucked for a week trying to figure this out. I'm going through every single thread on the subject hoping to find a solution for my problem. In my case, all of my products show perfectly fine... it's the special caracters in the sideboxes and the header and footer and what shows on the source file that's not ok.

    I still have the problem.
    I can not use "ş ı ğ ç ü ö" characters in product name or product description field. It just saves it blank.

    Besides that as you can see I have no problem with those characters in side boxes or any other area.

    can`t wrap my brain as to what I did that was so different that my problem is opposite. oh well, will keep watch on your post if somehow the solution appears and I`ll be glad to post if I ever find what my own problem is just in case it would help.

    seems like if we exchange our config files we may find the solution.
    Before you post make sure you delete the datebase info and all other important info about your site in config.php
    I will post it as soon as I get on my desktop...

    not config language file in includes folder. Since my language is Turkish the file name is Turkish.php
