Email - SMTP not working with GMAIL setttings

First of all my mail was sending out fine with PHP..

But most of the time when I got the email from the store it went to my spam email box (Using GMAIL) - I read on a faq about the spam setting but forget where i read that.. too much to read and sometime you can't find what you are looking for again

But then when i made a fake purchase the user got the email (in my inbox it was)

So I read that you could use the setting to login to your account to send it and it would not put in the spam folder.

So I did this.

But then if i say go turn off a shipping mod I get this error -
Getting this error

ERROR: Failed sending email to: "[email protected]" with subject: "ALERT: Your Admin settings have been changed in your online store." SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host.

Not sure what i'm doing wrong
