    help question Hiding the price

I've recently installed Zen Cart, and I like it a lot. We are currently using it to collect donations for a gift registry for a member of our organization whom we are honoring at the end of the month.

I was happy to find the following tutorial: http://www.zen-cart.com/content.php?...ct-or-Donation

Now, I would like to hide the $1.00 price that is assigned to every product in the listing.

i've tried setting "Display Product Price" to 0 in each of the following items under Configuration:
    • All listing
    • Featured listing
    • New listing

    but the price listing remains

my store is located at http://tikvatisrael.org/catalog

hope someone can help me out.

    thanks,
    janaki

Sorry, but I'm confused. It seems like you would just set the price of each of the registry items instead of the donation model, unless you want me to be able to contribute, say, $20 toward the price of the $130 table. If that's the case, you'll need the $1.00 on there so I know how many to add to cart. Let me know if I'm misunderstanding.

the point being that i've set every item on the "registry" to have a "price" of $1.00

then the amount to donate for each item is the number of dollars the contributor wants to donate.

although, I agree with you, it seems reasonable to have the units clearly noted, most of my users are finding it confusing (my organization is mostly older members, and not at all technically inclined). they would prefer that i include an explanation of the unit price and the maximum in the description, which i can do, and then only have the "Add:" field showing. I'm inclined to change "Add" to "Amount", hoping that's clearer.

Maybe something like this would be less confusing:

    Been so long I forgot.

I changed the 'Price' to 'Minimum Donation' in includes/languages/english/index.php, around line 37 in the TABLE_HEADING_PRICE define and saved the file to my custom override folder.

The 'Enter the number of dollars ...' is around line 550 in english.php in the TEXT_PRODUCT_LISTING_MULTIPLE_ADD_TO_CART define.

    I added this to the bottom of the stylesheet: .productListing-data {border-bottom: 1px solid; padding: 2em; width: 100px;}

If all that doesn't match what I have, let me know. I may have done more.

The text definitions worked great, but the line above to add a divider between items didn't seem to work for me.

Also, I can't figure out what setting I have set to show the Max: field, which I would rather not have there. And you example has the "Price" and the Quantity field below one another, and mine are showing up side-by-side, which isn't so great. Can you point me to the fix?
