Idea for Easy Populate and attributes any takers?

One of my biggest bug bears of easy populae is the need to add products and then go in and add attributes afterward using a really complicated formatted spreadsheet that ends up a mile wide.

If its possible would it not be easier if on the Easy Populate sheet for products had an optional attributes feild where you could specify attributes values seperared by commas.

then assumabley after the product is inserted, the model number could be used to call the product_id and then the attribute id data seperated to inteser into the attributes table?

Does this sound viable? I appreciate that this would not set atteributes with price etc but surely this is all thats needed to add attributes at the same time as the product itself.

Anyone got any thoughts on this/would also find it useful?

Easy Populate 4.0 uses two sheets for adding and modifying attribute. The Basic sheet is use to create attribute names and value set and apply them to a product id. After doing this, you download the Detailed sheet and can set ANY value you would through the admin.

The two sheets eliminate the extremely large sheet (endless columns if you have many attribute/values combinations) that EP Advances 3.03 (by Langer).

The other nice thing about the basic import is that you can add multiple attribute types at one go. You just add the products id a second time, and the associated attribute set. In this way, you can add size and color to say a shirt or shoes.

Please carefully read the documentation before attempting to use as this will save you much frustration.

Also, EP 4.0 is INDEPENDENT of all other versions of EP. So you can install EP 4 and some other version at the same time.

However, to my knowledge, only EP 4 is properly integrated into zencart 1.5x.
