Change image and text on catalog main page

Hello. Just downloaded and installed. Trying to figure out how to change the "zen cart" logo on the main page of the catalog, and change the "sales message goes here", and remove all of the links below the zen cart logo (Hardware Software DVD Movies Gift Certificates). Like to have that area blank. Also the next row of links "EZ Pages, Privacy Notice" etc. Basically, clean the top up.

I have other php carts and it is all done from the admin, but I don't see any was to do it from there. Am I missing it or does it all have to be done by editing the scripts?

Thanks for the reply. My internet is working much better today, read through all of the tutorials. I got all of those changes done and most of the rest of the changes I wanted done as well.

Got a problem with the "sideboxes" I deleted a lot of the banners and stuff that were there when I installed. Now I want to add side boxes and banners back in for my store, but I can not seem to get any one them to show up. I created a free shipping banner that I wanted to have displayed on the RH side. I set everything according to the sidebox tutorial but it doesn't show up. I look at the customer side of the cart and nothing there, yet the admin aide says it is active. I can not even figure out how to add more boxes with nothing in them yet.

Ideally I want to be able to add sideboxes that I can name that have titles on the top, and be able to add product images or promos, etc.

Can anybody help with this? Not much info in the tutorials for the sideboxes and adding banners to them.

There are builtin side boxes that display banners

Admin > tools > banner manager > create a banner properly sized
admin > config > layout settings > Banner Display Groups - Side Box banner_box
admin > config > layout settings > Banner Display Groups - Side Box banner_box2

One of them is static the other will randomly display banners created for it

Hi, regarding turning off listing categories (http://www.zen-cart.com/content.php?...top-of-my-page), I followed the instructions and the listing categories are still visible. I went into admin > config > layout setting > Categories Tab Menu and turned it to OFF or "0" yet the EZ Pages :: Privacy Notice :: Shared :: Zen Cart is still displayed.

with no success. I am also unable to remove the Zen Cart logo. I have followed through these threads pedantically, found all of the appropriate .php files to edit, made sure there were no errors (been stuck on these 3 problems over the course of about 36 hours now) to no avail. Interestingly. I've had marked success doing this for other similar processes across the website and this is the last bit I need to nail down regarding aesthetics.
