Hi i have a zencart that sells items that are made to order sometimes these items take up to 4 weeks to arrive to the customer so i wanted to add a pre order feature so the customer didnt pay or only paid a deposit untill the item was ready for dispatch,i had a look around and wasnt able to find a module for this so i edited the item prices to charge the deposit and put in the description the rest will b charged via invoice before the item is posted ,this seems very messy to me but im not sure what is the best way around the issue ,we have approx 500 products paid for upfront and if i can find away of sorting the pre order items we will have another 500 to add,i dont like holding the customers money for this long so whats the best way to go about this ,im quite new to zencart so any advice would be appreciated
i did also think maybe there was a way to take payment for some items and authorise payments for the pre order items but paypal seems to want e to choose one or the other for the entire site
