Alerts via MessageStack not displaying.. Please Help!!

I have set up my products with attributes so my customer could select different size options for my products. Everything with the attributes is working as it should. The problem I am having is if a customer tries to add a product to the cart without selecting a attribute there is no message stack error explain that they must select an attribute before they can add a product to the cart. Does anyone know how to fix this?
