Copying attributes/values?

I sell custom jewelry so for example the bracelets we sell can hold up to 7 charms.
I am making 7 drop menu attributes for the 7 charms but there are over 100 to choose from. How can I duplicate the values for each attribute once I get one list complete?

thanks!

Re: Copying attributes/values?

Peek in the Attributes Controller ...

There is a section at the top for Copying Attributes to another Product or Copying Attributes to a Category of Products ...

Re: Copying attributes/values?

Ok but that is to copy the Attribute once it contains all 100+ values right? I need to copy the values to a different titled attribute... Is that still how I do it?

Re: Copying attributes/values?

Have you an URL to a Product that currently has All of the Attributes that you need that you want to copy to another Product or Category that we could perhaps look at? It might make it easier to see what it is you are trying to do ... :lookaroun

Re: Copying attributes/values?

No nothing complete yet. I can try and explain more here :

Build a bracelet has 8 attributes
1. Color value to choose : blue, red, pink, black....
2. Charm 1 value to choose : football bling, baseball, soccer.....
3. Charm 2. value to choose : same charms list in Charm 1
4. Charm 3. ". "
5. Charm 4 .....
6. Charm 5 .....
7. Charm 6 .....
8. Charm 7 .....

Once I get the whole list of available charms added to Charm 1 I would like to be able to copy to Charm 2-7 instead of putting them all in again manually. I can't copy the attribute because that would give me all Charm 1's.
Does that make more sense? They have to be listed individually so that we know the order to place them in the bracelet.... And this is the only way to allow for multiples of the same charm to be on one bracelet.

I mean if I have to add the list multiple times then I have to but was hoping there was a way to copy them to save a little time.

Re: Copying attributes/values?

Oh and after re reading your post I am not concerned about copying to another product or category ... This is for the same product. I know how to copy same attributes to other products. This is copying values.

You have to build manually all attributes Option names & option values

Then you can copy all of them to another product or category of products

Re: Copying attributes/values?

Ok copying to another product isn't going to help all that much...that much I can figure out how to do ... There are like 4 or 5 and that's it but typing in 100+ values to 7 attributes...all the same... is going to take a lot of time... Is there a add-on that would make it easier? Like a spread sheet type so I could copy and paste and then upload?

Re: Copying attributes/values?

I should add that I didn't use attributes in the past ... Didn't need them... Wouldn't I still have to manually add all attributes and values outside of easy populate ? Or can they be created within the file?

Re: Copying attributes/values?

If using the latest ZenCart and easypopulate 4.0 I believe you can add them
