    red flag Attributes Quantity

Hi I need a bit of help with this if someone has any ideas.

I have a set of attributes which are a set of radio buttons laid out in a grid format like this.

    Column 1

    250 (£90.00)

    500 (£150.00)

    750 (£200.00)

    Column 2

    250 (£110.00)

    500 (£170.00)

    750 (£220.00)

    Column 3

    250 (£120.00)

    500 (£180.00)

    750 (£210.00)

250, 500, 750 are the quantities for the order (please note the quantity in the quantity box will always be set to 1 so if someone selects 250 from column 1 it will add 1 x 250 = £90.00 to the cart)

This part works fine but then I have a more complex situation after that. Customers are then asked to select more attributes options but these are priced per individual item. These individual items when added to the cart need to be calculated according to the main set of attributes.

E.g. If 250 (£90.00) and Individual Item 1 = £0.03 was selected the calculation would be

    250 = £90 + (250 x 0.03 = £7.50) = £97.50

So the quantity on the 250 radio would multiply a individual item 1 by 250.

The problem is that 250 is the name of the option and not a real quantity such as that found when you add a quantity in the quantity box. Also even if 250 was selected and it was an actual quantity that was added to the cart as if it was in the quantity box then it would need to be able to calculate 250 x Individual Item 1 (0.03) = £7.50 before adding to the cart and in order to add £90.00 + £7.50 together in the cart.

I've looked at using stock quantity attributes but I am unsure if it is intelligent enough to do the above calculation correctly. I'm not even sure if this is possible in zen cart.

I really would appreciate some help with this, I already have a cart set up with the attributes in place so can supply a url upon request, although the attributes layout is a bit messy due to development. As I said Column 1, Column 2, Column 3 work fine because they are straighforward. It is multiplying further individual items beneath these by the quantities in Column 1, Column 2, Column 3.

    Hope that makes sense.

    Thanks

    Nick

These individual items when added to the cart need to be calculated according to the main set of attributes.
What you are seeking is dependent attributes where the selection of one affects a later selection

Unfortunately, ZenCart has no facility for this

What is the difference between column 1, 2 & 3??
You might have to create a separate product for each

That is the problem, I can't seperate them as they are print.

I already have separate products set up by size and the weight of paper or card used to print on.

e.g A4 Leaflets, 115 gsm, Gloss - there are far too many quantity variations to think about setting these up as individual items. Plus column 1, column 2, column 3 are like this

    Full Colour Single Sided
    250
    500
    750
    1250

Full colour black & white reverse
    250
    500
    750
    1250

    Full colour both sides
    250
    500
    750
    1250

You can probably work out that it would be an absolute nightmare to separate all of these.

Just thought I'd add that the price would not change on the items priced individually no matter what quantity from each column was selected.

So Full Colour Single Sided - 250 - individual Item 1 would be the same as Full colour black & white reverse - 250 - Individual Item 1

The below will give you a better idea of the problem:

    Full Colour Single Sided
    250
    500
    750
    1250

Followed by Finishing Options which are:

    Perforations - 1, 2, 3, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10

    Round Cornering - 1, 2, 3, 4

    Folds - Single Fold, x 2 - Roll Fold, x 2 - Z Fold, x 2 - Cross Fold, x 3 - Roll Fold, x 3 - Z Fold

    Drilling - 1 x 3mm, 2 x 3mm, 3, 3mm, 4 x 4mm, 1 x 3.5mm, 2, 3.5mm, 3 x 3.5mm, 4 x 3.5mm, 1 x 6mm, 2 x 6mm, 3 x 6mm, 4 x 6mm

Each of these having a singular individual price.

Could you do something like this?

250 priced per individual item - e.g 250 = £90 but the price entered against 250 would be 90 ÷ 250 = 0.36 (the price entered against 250) then once slected have the radio button update the qty in the cart to 250 which would give you £90 + 250 x individual item 1?

Yes, and see min & unit where one could set the min at 250 & unit at 250
With some instructions as to enter the qty desired 250, 500, ect
Eliminates the need for the qty attribute

Ok so if that was the case would 250 automatically multiply the other attributes by 250 or 500, 750, 1250 etc? i.e. would it automatically update the quantity in the cart for all attribute options as well?
