New Install Login Issues

I am brand new to Zen Cart. I've read up in the forums as best I can to try to determine the issue but need some assistance as I don't know where to go from here.

Zen Cart: 1.5.1
MySQL: 5.1.63
PHP: 5.3.x

I use DreamHost hosting and installed and setup using DreamHost's one click option.

Install seemed to go without a hitch.

This is a clean install.

I go to my site http://www.andysvinyl.com to the renamed admin folder and entered my info.
it prompted me for a new password so I entered a new password and confirmed.
It accepted.

I tried to login with the new password. It accepts the username/password without complaint but simply refreshes the page.

The answer I found here was suggesting that PHP was the issue but I'm running 5.3 so I don't know what to do from here.

Two issues:

Dream host (better known as "Nightmare" host) is not suitable for eCommerce - even thought they have this "one-click install" which is probably a feature of fantastico, or softaculous, rather than any install service they claim to provide. So you are with an awful host, and you'll spend most of your time in tears (as you are discovering). You haven't even got past step one - and you're coming here for help.

It is not recommended to install using these "1-click" systems. Not for zencart. Not for any software...

Solutions:

1. get to a decent host while you have a chance.
2. do MANUAL installs, because this is more reliable and also teaches you some important preliminary features of your new webshop.

Financially I can't leave DreamHost at this time. Is there a way to work around this or do I have to search out a different solution for a commerce site? If I have to find a different solution so be it but I like what zen-cart offers.
