Default Extending Cart Time for Customers

When I am logged in and browsing the front side of the store, I notice I have to keep logging in while browsing. It does not seem to keep me logged in very long, and I have to keep logging. It is annoying as a shopper. Is there a way to extend the customers log-in (session) time via phpMyAdmin?

(There is a plugin called "Keep Cart", but its latest version if for 1.3.8)

"how long" is it keeping you logged in?
If it's less than 24 minutes, then either your server's PHP configuration needs tweaking or maybe you've got an SSL problem.

    What's the URL?
What's the exact pattern of steps that can reproduce the problem you've having?

And while Keep Cart may "help" (and will work with 1.5.1), it doesn't solve what sounds like a more serious problem than a mere inconvenience (assuming you're not complaining about 24 minutes being too short)

Nothing has changed in this area since v1.3.x.

I am modifying the order.php to add extra field text to my order confirmation e-mails. This happens after I update the order.php page, so perhaps this is what is causing the issue. It seems to ask for log in after I make a coding change, and then get to final step of checkout each time (where there is a PHP error showing due to the modifications I am making).

Is it still possible to make the time longer than 24 minutes? I think I would rather keep them logged in for an hour.

See, this is where CONTEXT is SO important when posting for help. HOW and WHY you're triggering it is a crucial piece of information to share when posting.

The timeout you're encountering is probably COMPLETELY UNRELATED to what you think it is.

There's a credit-card-slamming protector in the system that automatically logs you out after 3 failed payment attempts.

Turns out it's not a matter of "extending cart time" at all !!!!!!!!! lol
